Ravi has established an international reputation for focusing on the intersection of the still and moving image. His work involves themes of identity, use of historical archives, psychology and the subconscious, expressed through conceptual documentary, choreographic and kinetically employed aesthetics.
His work embraces the potential of collaboration and pushing the boundaries of new technology in creating new artistic languages. His film and photographic collaborations with globally renowned choreographers and institutions such as Saburo Teshigawara, Wayne McGregor, Phyllida Lloyd, Michael Clark, have been seen at the Palais Garnier, Royal Opera House, Edinburgh Festivaland high profile venues around the world including Japan, Europe, the U.S.
His work has been commissioned and exhibited in group and solo shows across the UK, and internationally including Hatton Gallery, Magnum photos, Impressions gallery, Ikon Gallery, Cornerhouse, The Lowry, Recontres Arles, Royal Opera House Deloitte Ignite 08, Guanzhou Photography Festival.
